General informationA holiday should be fun, a relaxation and affordable. For anyone disabled there is of course a further requirement; it has to be disabled-friendly. Woodlarks was set up many years ago to meet all these criteria, with the added adventure element of being a Camp. Throughout each summer groups come from all over the country to this beautiful site where even severely disabled people sleep in tents and join in outdoor activities. (They can opt to sleep indoors and there are proper indoor washrooms and a big dining room). Over a thousand people camp here annually. A heated outdoor swimming pool with hoist and ramps, an aerial runway, woodland sites for BBQs and off-site activities such as special canoeing and sailing are all part of the fun. Best of all are the great friendships. Woodlarks is run entirely by volunteers, and volunteer helpers are needed for all camps, both those for young people and those for adults. This is an ideal opportunity for Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award candidates. Individuals are welcome to join one of the open camps:
