Surrey Clubs for Young People
(Founded as the Surrey Association of Boys’ Clubs 1947)
Surrey Clubs for Young People aims to promote the personal
and social development of young people by offering them the knowledge,
understanding and help they need to fulfil their potential as they prepare for
life in Society and their responsibilities as adults.
The Association is an umbrella organisation providing a wide
range of services to individual youth groups. Benefits of affiliation include a
programme of activities, events, competitions and training for club members,
training and guidance for club workers, advice, guidance and support for youth
club management committees.
The ethos of the Association is the promotion and development
of single gender work for club members through a separate programme for girls
and young women and boys and young men.
The Association is affiliated to the National Association of
Clubs for Young People and through this affiliation Surrey Clubs can become
involved in a regional, national and international programme. NACYP offers the
most comprehensive support and opportunities of any non-uniformed national youth
body and has the ability to provide up to date training and information on all
youth issues.
