Learning Through
Action
Learning Through Action works with
young people (aged 4-22) aiming to help counter alienation, low-esteem,
underachievement and anti-social behaviour, through interactive learning
projects/workshops.
These projects/workshops address a
range of issues including personal decision making, responsibility for the
consequences of our actions, understanding sexual and other relationships,
bullying, drugs awareness, nutrition, road safety, citizenship and motivation.
The Learning Through Action teams of
facilitators and specialist-trained ‘gap-year’ presenters work
across central southern England including Surrey. The projects and workshops are
delivered mainly to groups of young people in schools and other venues on a
daily basis during term times, but also to parents, teachers and other groups.
Joint projects are developed with a number of other organisations.
Learning Through Action recruits new
‘gap-year’ presenters (full-time, salaried employees) from September each year,
and enquiries are welcome from potential candidates who are or will be 18+,
qualified for university and have some experience/skill in drama/role play.
