AimsGuiding is a game – with a purpose. It provides opportunities for girls and young women to:
Services Offered to Young PeopleRainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger units meet regularly, usually weekly throughout the County. Guiding uses a method of five distinct elements that interlink. All Guides, whatever age, work together in small groups, are encouraged to govern themselves and make their own decisions, have a balanced and varied programme, care for the individual and share a commitment to a common standard. Within this framework the girls are given the opportunity to have fun, learn new skills, interact with others, enjoy the outdoors, and undertake exciting and challenging activities. Profile of UsersGirlguiding Surrey East have a membership of over 5,000 girls and women who meet regularly in nearly 250 units throughout the Godstone, Epsom, Reigate, Banstead, Leatherhead and Dorking areas. Girlguiding Surrey West have a membership of nearly 10,000 girls and women who meet regularly in nearly 500 units in the areas of Esher, Camberley, Farnham, Haslemere, Guildford, Cranleigh, Egham, Woking, Ashford, Staines, Chertsey, Weybridge. Guiding has units for all groups:
Ranger Guides 14 to 25 years. Many girls choose to become Young Leaders helping with units and developing their leadership skills and they may do this from the age of 14. Adult leaders are 18 to 65. Services available to other OrganisationsGuide halls available to hire in some areas. We have a number of volunteers, with a variety of skills, who are willing to share with others. Contact Details
