The Activity Fund

The Activity Fund awards grants to provide activities that meet one or more of the five Every Child Matters outcomes:

bullet

Being Healthy – enjoying good physical and mental health and living a healthy lifestyle

bullet

Staying Safe – being protected from harm and neglect

bullet

Enjoying and Achieving – getting the most out of life and developing the skills for adulthood

bullet

Making a Positive Contribution – being involved with the community and society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour

bullet

Economic Well-being – not being prevented by economic disadvantage from achieving their full potential in life

Here are some examples of applications that could be funded:

bullet

Off-site activities (including transport)

bullet

In-house projects

bullet

Residentials

bullet

Hire of external instructors/coaches

bullet

Training of leaders/volunteers to enable activities to take place, i.e. food hygiene, canoeing, expedition, crafts etc.

bullet

Equipment to enable activities to take place, i.e. hire of bouncy castles, craft materials, buoyancy aids etc.

 Grants will not be awarded for:

bullet

Fixed capital items

bullet

Building repairs and maintenance

bullet

Training for youth work qualifications, admin skills etc.
